## day 1 ā loaded up the wagon and hit the road
that was probably the quickest we have ever prepped for a five-day tripā¦ i knew we were probably forgetting some stuffā¦
oh wellā¦
#### stop 1 ā jack's creek campground
*no idea this place would be so special ā just needed a break from drivingā¦*
*until the sunsetā¦ and the sunrise? goooll-yā¦*
*never been a sunrise kinda guy, butā¦ buh-roā¦ I'll admit itā¦ it was beautifulā¦*
*noctis laid quietly, observing the waterfowlā¦ probably thinking about killing themā¦*
*not a bad first day and even better morningā¦*

## day 2 ā somewhere in moab trying to grill carne asada in the wind
*we got to moab in the afternoon and found a place to chill for the eveningā¦*
*we had the place to ourselves until the rvs and dirt bikes poured inā¦*
*no problem for the yotaā¦ we moved to a more secluded areaā¦*
*it was not an excuse to drive the truckā¦*
*we found a nice spot alone, then grilled carne asada in the windā¦*
*ā¦ no rice or beans ā still so goodā¦*
*we packed up bright and early and made our way to swingarm cityā¦*

## day 3 ā noctis meets new friends then gets his ass kicked in swingarm city
*noctis made lots of new friends then got his ass kickedā¦*
*i guess some dogs don't appreciate having their crotch sniffedā¦*
*lots of yotas and cool peopleā¦ but there wasn't much for us to do hereā¦*
*ā¦we packed up and bounced in the amā¦*
*ā¦a dirt bike would have been funā¦ cool place thoughā¦*

## day 4 ā shafer trail & la sal
one of the guys at swingarm told us to do shafer trail so we took his word for it. honestly i thought it sounded kinda wack, but with no itinerary or plan, why not?
### a casual afternoon drive up schafer trail
*just a laid back drive up shafer trail, listening to the procharger whine*
*it's a trip looking down as you climb up*
*sometimes you gotta do things that sound boring*
*the mormons are wild calling this the promised land*
*we had a quick lunch at the top then headed to our next location*
*we just needed to figure out where that would beā¦*

### wine, stars, and a campfire in la sal
*we had no clue where we were going to stay for the night ā wingin' itā¦*
*that's not typically how we roll ā we like schedules, itinerary, controlā¦*
*there were trails everywhere so we picked one and found a cool spotā¦*
*this was the best night of the tripā¦ we both just wanted to chill and have a fireā¦*
*we sat in the stargazers and sipped on wine ā you admitted i was right about these chairsā¦*
*i got tipsy with one glassāthat's how it should beā¦*

## day 5 ā a casual stroll and one last night
*we woke up to the birds chirpingā¦*
*we didn't rushā¦ sat in our chairs and enjoyed the sunriseā¦*
*we took our time and decided to explore a little more on footā¦*
### "this is the worst breakfast i have ever hadā¦"
*nothing like breathing fresh air and sippin' coffee in the amā¦*
*good call on those poncho-style wubbies you foundā¦ cozyā¦*
*and those beef franksā¦ exquisite! the fridge was running lowā¦*
*we decided to hike around for a bit before committing to the drive backā¦*

### last camp and a smoked buhbaā¦
*last night of the tripā¦we were all excited to get homeā¦ especially noctisā¦*
*he still wanted to play frisbeeā¦ but he needed restā¦*
*the universe blessed us with one last sunset while we ate dinnerā¦*
*noctis slept pretty much the whole way homeā¦*
*ā¦that was fun!*
