## 🎣 Steelhead Fishing is Sick AF ![[firstchromer.JPG]] I have lived in WA state most of my life. My parents took us to many local rivers when I was a kid just to swim and hang out in the summer. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine there were badass monster trout living in there. Unlike salmon that journey back to the river where they were born to die—steelhead come back, smash their mate and then go back to the ocean. That's probably why they are so much more fun to catch. They are freaking unicorns. I went months before catching my first chromer. I started to believe they didn't exist... But when you pull when of these beauties out of the water for the first time—man, what a trip to know they live in there. The first time I pulled one out of the water, I couldn't stop talking about it. I kept pacing the riverbank running my mouth. My mentor who put me on that first fish told me to shut the F up and get my jig back in the water...and he was absolutely right to do so...
